I had Quaker Natural Granola - Oats & Honey & Raisins with powdered milk instead of my usual Post Raisin Bran with skim milk because we were getting low on skim milk and won't be making a big trip to town to pick some up before we'll likely run out. The Quaker Granola with powdered milk tastes just fine because it makes its own sauce. I worked up a blog entry. The wind picked up around 9:00 for a few minutes then dropped off. We got some rain drops around 9:50. We left at 11:30 and ...

Walked to the self-pay fee station to drop off our registration for a few more days, then walked to the boat ramp. The wind had picked up again, but it wasn't as bad as yesterday.

We returned to the RV at 12:20 and I had lunch. J showered, then I showered. I decided not to continue downselecting the images I took after Denali National Park because it would take me quite a bit longer to finish doing it. Instead, I'll process much older images in Photoshop to complete a stock submission. (You may read more about stock submissions on August 7, 2009.) Before processing images from scratch, I prepared the 23 images from Denali that I had processed in Photoshop for the blog, and which had recently been assigned final file names, for a stock submission.

Then I manually activated my Verizon USB stick because I had been getting the slow National Access signal for the last couple of days while J has been able to get the faster Broadband Access signal. The software for the stick automatically re-activates the device every 30 days and in the process downloads any new operating settings, and J's stick automatically re-activated a few days ago. The manual activation "fixed" my USB stick so that I could connect through the faster Broadband Access signal. :)

I processed images for a stock submission, and continued working through images from our trip to South Africa in October 2007 and in particular our time in Lambert's Bay and Elands Bay. There's a large colony of cape gannets at Lambert's Bay, and we had a ball photographing the birds there (below left). While photographing the colony of Cape fur seals at Elands Bay, we were treated to the best sunset on that trip to Africa (below right).

I went outside around 4:55 to look at the sunset clouds. There were some nice clouds in the sky, but there was a dark band of clouds on the western horizon that was limiting the amount of color. It wasn't worth shooting, especially because it was cool and the wind was still blowing pretty good. I noticed that some tent campers had arrived at the next loop and were starting to make a fire. I think fire rings should be banned from campgrounds — I can't stand the smoke!

I returned to processing images in Photoshop for a stock submission.

We had dinner around 6:00 of J's impossible cheeseburger pie and a salad with Extra Special Country Trail Mix on top. The Extra Special Country Trail Mix is from WalMart Canada and has soybeans, pumpkin seeds, sunflower kernels, raisins, almonds, and dried cherries. J hadn't made the impossible cheeseburger pie in years, and she was surprised at how bland it was. So far, every recipe that J hasn't made for a few years has been on the bland side.

I did the dishes, then poured some Asbach Uralt. I got a notice that my good friend K in California is getting married! The new tent neighbors were making lots of noise! :( I processed more images in Photoshop for a stock submission, then I did some computer work. The new tent neighbors were still making lots of noise when I went to bed around 12:30! :(
