— Lunch out and errands
The Lasko 5367 Ceramic Heater was much quieter overnight than our old Honeywell HZ-338 Ceramic Heater, and we're really glad we got it. It was 2°F (-17°C) when I got out of bed around 7:50. The hot water was still flowing — running the hot water heater all night kept it plenty warm. I spilled ground New Orleans Style Coffee with Chicory from Lucile's all over the sink and counter top. :( I tried to use our Dyson DC24 All Floors to clean it up, and blew the GFI switch on the outlet into which we're connected. :( I turned off the two electric heaters, then bundled up and went outside to reset the GFI switch. It flipped immediately, so I turned on the inverter to make sure the bypass switch would be set correctly, then went back outside and flipped the GFI switch again. This time it stayed on. When I turned on the vacuum, it wasn't sucking because the cord had gotten stuck in the valve that switches the suction between the floor beater brush and the extendable hose. After I figured that out, I was able to suck up the dry grounds from the sink and counter top. Then I cleaned up the dish drain that had some damp coffee grounds — oh what fun to do first thing in the morning. Then I had breakfast. I continued to look for a place near Denver that carries Flexogen 3/4-inch garden hoses. I called an Ace Hardware in Highlands Ranch, and I was overjoyed that they had exactly what I was looking for — a 50-foot 3/4-inch Flexogen hose. :) I went outside and cleaned the Jeep windows with some windshield washer fluid and our squeegie. We left at 11:30, 31°F (-1°C), in the Jeep.

We went to Sonoma'z Wine Bar & Grill in the Marriott near Park Meadows Mall for lunch. I had a tasty Turkey Bacon Pesto Panini with Swiss cheese on herb focaccia, and J had the Soup (French Onion) and half a salad (Spinach). We split some Tiramisu for dessert, and it was better than average. We left around 12:40 after thoroughly enjoying the relaxing lunch out.

We went to the nearby Lukas Liquor Superstore to pick up some supplies, and they had everything we were looking for. :)

We went to the Borders near REI so J could pick up some copies of Audubon Magazine. Her Crowned Plover appears in a spread called Caught in the Act. Unfortunately, the Borders was closed, so we walked ...

To REI so J could get some down booties to wear in the RV to keep her tootsies warm. As we were checking out, we saw a stack of Audubon Magazines, so we picked up a few right there. We left around 2:10.

We went to the Ace Hardware in Highlands Ranch at 2:24 to pick up a 50-foot 3/4-inch Flexogen hose. We left at 2:42 after looking around at other things.

We stopped at a King Soopers to do some grocery shopping on the way home. I dropped off J to start shopping, then ...

I took the Jeep to get it washed at the Kwik Car Wash in the same shopping complex. After going through the drive-through car wash, I did a quick vacuum job followed by some basic detailing. The Jeep was looking much better!

I returned to King Soopers and helped J finish shopping.

We returned to the RV around 3:45, quickly dropped off everything we had picked up, then left to go ...

Pick up GA (grandson A, age 8) from school.

We delivered GA to SJ&DilK's (J's Son J and Daughter-in-law K's) and went inside to visit for a while.

We returned to the RV around 6:00 and had dinner of lunch stuff. I did some computer work, then we watched an episode of Desperate Housewives on DVD. I installed the new 12VDC clock by the bed in a temporary fashion to make sure the placement would be OK before I installed it permanently. I bid on a collection of three 4x6-inch Singh-Ray neutral density filters that came with a Cokin Z-Pro filter holder and three adaptors that was on auction on eBay. I was particularly interested in the three-stop Daryl Benson Reverse Neutral Density Filter. If you're not familiar with a reverse graduated neutral density filter, it has a hard transition from clear to the neutral density in the middle of the filter, then gradually reduces density towards the top. It's designed for conditions where there's a bright horizon, like at sunset or sunrise, and the reverse part helps keep the sky at the top of the frame from being too dark. The 3-stop hard grad filter might have been interesting, but I would have re-auctioned the 2-stop soft grad filter and the Cokin Z-Pro filter holder and adaptors. The auction ended in the middle of the night, and I was outbid after I went to bed. I wish I would have bid more, because I have some eBay Bucks to spend, and I really want a reverse grad neutral density filter.
