January 25, 2010, a Monday
Española (WalMart) to Albuquerque (Rio Grande Zoo), New Mexico, USA
— Visited the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum
Had my normal breakfast then did some computer work. I looked for auto body shops in Albuquerque to get the Jeep repaired. (You may read about the Jeep accident on the blog entry for yesterday.) We prepped the RV and left around 10:00.

We stopped at a FedEx Office location in Santa Fe at 10:40 so J could send off some items she had sold on eBay.

We parked the RV in a shopping area near the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe. We unhooked the Jeep and then then took the Jeep to go ...

To the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum around 11:10. The collection of works by Georgia O'Keeffe was smaller than we expected, and after we finished going through the galleries, J said she wanted her money back. Then we watched two short films about Georgia O'Keeffe and her work, and J said they were worth the price of admission. We went through the gift shop, and I played with an Original Buddha Board. It's a canvas that turns black when wet and returns to white when dry, and the setup includes a brush similar to ones for Chinese calligraphy. We left around 12:20 and walked to the nearby ...

Il Vicino, an Italian Trattoria, for lunch. It's one of my favorite places to eat in Santa Fe. I had Lasagna Bolognese and an Insalata de Casa and J had soup (minestrone) and salad. It was a nice meal. :)

We took the Jeep back to the RV and hooked it up to tow. We left around 1:30.

We stopped at a Shell gas station on the way out of town to get a few gallons of gas in the RV (at $2.639/gal) so we could make it to cheaper gas in Albuquerque.

We stopped at a McDonald's in Albuquerque close to the first auto body shop I was going to go to for an estimate so J could use their free Wi-Fi. I unhooked the Jeep and left by myself in the Jeep around 3:15.

I went to Central Paint & Body Shop around 3:20 so Dave could look at the damage and work up an estimate. He said he'd get back to me later in the day.

I went to Perfection Auto Craft around 3:40 so Patrick could look at the damage and work up an estimate. He worked up the estimate right there, and then started to check parts availability to see if they could do the work tomorrow. As I was waiting, Dave from Central Paint & Body Shop called me with an estimate that was higher than the one Patrick just quoted me, so I said I'd get back to him if I was interested. Patrick was able to find parts that would be available tomorrow, so I told him I'd be back in the morning.

I stopped at Jubilation Wine & Spirits around 4:00 to pick up some supplies.

I returned to the RV around 4:25 and did some computer work. J called the Rio Grande Zoo to see if we could stay in the RV overnight in their lot like we had done in April 2009 before going to the zoo, and they said it would be OK. I left by myself in the Jeep around 5:15 and went ...

To a nearby Smith's to do some grocery shopping.

I returned to the RV around 6:00, and we left at 6:05 with me in the RV and J following in the Jeep.

We went to the Washtub Laundromat around 6:10 to do our laundry. We had dinner of lunch things while the machines were doing their thing. We left around 8:00.

We reached the Rio Grande Zoo parking lot around 8:10. I finished putting away my laundry, then processed images for the blog.
