May 10, 2010, a Monday
near Moab, Utah, USA
— A windy day and went to town
I awoke around 5:00 and it sounded calm outside. Within about five minutes, the wind was blowing like crazy as forecast, so I went back to sleep.

We got out of bed around 6:00, and by 6:10 the wind had stopped — dead calm! I had my normal breakfast, and there was a beautiful slot of warm light through the clouds that made me want to be out photographing. The wind started picking up again around 7:00 as I was working up a blog entry. I did some computer work. We left in the Jeep around 11:20.

We went to the Moab Post Office to mail things and pick up our mail.

Then we went to the Canyonlands Copy Center so I could ship out the Sans Digital TowerStor TS2UT via UPS.

We went to Fiesta Mexicana, a Mexican Restaurant in Moab, around noon for lunch. I had Mole Enchiladas and J had Cheese Enchiladas. I had mole sauce for the first time here several years ago, and I just love the dark brown sauce made with peanuts and chocolate!

After lunch, we went to the Tom Till Gallery to look at his landscape photography. He had some really nice images, including one that was similar to my Rough Mulesears And The Organ from yesterday, but he had some nice clouds in the sky.

Then we took the Jeep to a coin-operated car wash because it was filthy after towing it across Colorado with wet roads from the snow. J walked to the nearby City Market to start grocery shopping while I washed the Jeep.

I went to look for a place to get my hair cut, and the only barbershop in town was closed. :(

I went to a bank to get change for a $20 so I could get quarters to feed the vacuum at the coin-operated car wash. There was a long line inside, so I went outside and walked through the drive-up window and got served quicker.

I returned to the coin-operated car wash and vacuumed out the Jeep.

Then I went to the City Market to pick up a few things while J was finishing up. Then we filled up the Jeep with gas right there at $2.969/gal with our 3¢ discount.

We returned to the Jeep around 3:20 and I went through my mail. Then I did some computer work.

I had dinner of lunch stuff around 6:55 while reading some of the new May Outdoor Photographer. There were some interesting clouds, but the wind was still blowing like crazy. I did some computer work, and first there was some nice warm light right around us and then the mountains in the distance light up beautifully! I processed RAW images in Capture One (C1) from earlier this year to adjust exposure and white balance and then create TIFF files after assigning final file names.
