May 23, 2010, a Sunday
Pawnee National Grassland, Colorado, USA
— Looked for Swift Foxes
We got up early and J was raring to go. I made instant coffee to go and J started a mug of tea steeping. We left in the Jeep around 6:45 with J driving.

We drove around the Pawnee National Grassland in search of Swift Foxes. We didn't see any, but did see Lark Bunting, Horned Lark, Meadowlark, Long-Billed Curlew, Burrowing Owl, Ferruginous Hawk, some Thirteen Lined Ground Squirrel, two Coyote, and lots of Pronghorn. We only stopped to photograph one group of pronghorn (left) because we were on a mission to find the Swift Foxes. And, it was a real chore for me to photograph without really having the use of my right thumb. (You may read about my sprained right thumb on the blog entry for May 22, 2010.)

We returned to the RV around 11:40. J made me a ham-and-Swiss sandwich on rye because my right hand was still pretty useless. I processed four images for the blog, and it was time consuming to do so without the use of my right hand. J took a nap around 2:30 and I iced my right hand because it was still swollen and was starting to show a nice bruise. Then I worked up a blog entry. I left by myself in the Jeep around 4:40.

I drove around more of the Pawnee National Grassland in search of Swift Foxes and didn't see any.

I returned to the RV around 6:05. We each showered, then I made dinner after J lit the pilot light in the oven.

We had dinner at 6:55 of Bertolli Italian Sausage & Rigatoni and Texas Toast and J did the dishes.

I had some Asbach Uralt, and a little more than usual for medicinal purposes, while processing four images for the blog.
