July 27, 2010, a Tuesday
Parker (K2), Colorado, USA
— Watched the grandkids
We got up a little earlier than usual. I backed up some data while having my normal breakfast, then I started a blog entry. We vacuumed the inside of the RV using our Dyson DC24 vacuum. J did the floors then I dusted the horizontal surfaces, including the ceiling. We prepped our laundry and I packed up my computer and we left in the Jeep.

We went to the One Stop Coin Laundry in Parker around 10:10 to do our laundry. After we got it started, I went online through the free Wi-Fi network and started to upload the images that were selected from my last stock submission, and J left in the Jeep to run some errands. I finished the blog entry then started to work on another. My uploads were going slower than I expected, and they weren't finished when we left around 11:50.

We returned to the RV and I used the Verizon Broadband Access signal to resume uploading the selected images from my last stock submission.

I had lunch then left in the Jeep by myself.

I went to the Crossroads Barbershop to get a haircut around 12:40. The haircut I had gotten in Moab on May14, 2010 turned out to be a good one, and I really liked the way my hair looked about three weeks ago. One of the barbers was waiting for me to arrive, so I just walked straight up to the chair. He did a pretty good job. I left around 12:55.

I returned to the RV and put some things away in our basement compartments. I left in the Jeep by myself around 1:45.

I went to my storage unit to drop off the last of the off-site backup hard drives and to pick up my Epson R2880 printer and paper.

I returned to the RV around 2:30 and processed two images to print. I only needed one 8x10 print today, but I processed an 8x12 too so I could put both on a single sheet of 13x19 paper. We left in the Jeep around 3:05 and ...

Went to SJ&DilK's (J's Son J and Daughter-in-law K) to watch the grandkids: GA (grandson A, age 8.5), GJ (grandson J, age 5), and GS (granddaughter S, age 3). I did some "upside down" (I hold a kid upside down by their ankles and carry them around, sometimes to chase another kid) and "on your shoulders" (I carry a kid around on my shoulders) with GS and GJ and they loved it. GA had gone outside to work on his hole. He's digging a hole in the ground in hopes of finding gold, and he has a hole almost deep enough for him to stand in up to his head! I must say that I went through a mine-digging phase too around his age after I returned from a trip to Colorado. I don't think I was going after gold in the suburbs of Philadelphia, I just wanted to have my own mine. After DilK returned after finishing her errands, J ordered some pizzas from Pizza Hut and DilK went to pick them up.

We had dinner around 6:00 of the Pizza Hut Pizza Mia pizzas: one cheese, one pepperoni, and one half pepperoni and half sausage. I just love the crust on those pizzas! The adults and GS also had some cranberry/walnut salad from Sprouts.

After dinner, we all went outside to play Four Square with GJ's new playground-style rubber ball and chalk that we had given him for his birthday. I had never heard of the game before, but J had played it as a kid and so had DilK. GA was especially excited to play, and all of the kids (including me and J) enjoyed playing according to a variation of J's rules. After we played for a while, J and I left and took GS with us for some really short one-on-one time.

We went to the Loaf 'N Jug to fill up the Jeep at $2.439/gal using our 10¢ discount — how fun is that?!

We took GS back home then said goodbye to everyone.

We returned to the RV around 8:05. I set up my Epson R2880 printer with UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta 8-color inks and discovered that the LLK (light, light black), LC (light cyan), and Y (yellow) cartridges were extremely low and the C (cyan) and M (vivid magenta) cartridges were also low. I tried to do an automatic nozzle clean and check, and there wasn't enough ink. So, I left by myself in the Jeep and went to my storage unit to pick up replacement cartridges. I replaced all of the low cartridges when I returned and the automatic nozzle clean and check failed — the C (cyan) jets were clogged. :( I performed several manual cleaning and checks which improved things, but then I ran out of PK (photo black) ink. I didn't have a replacement ink cartridge for it, so I switched to using J's Epson Artisan 800 printer with Claria 6-color inks. I also had to switch to using Kirtland Premium Glossy paper, the only 8.5x11 photo paper we have instead of my regular Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster (formerly Epson Premium Luster). The first 8x10 print I made ended up getting printed on some regular laser paper because the photo paper and it had gotten stuck together. So, I removed all of the regular laser paper from the paper tray and printed again. It worked and the print looked OK.
