Had a regular breakfast after opening the industrial-sized (OK, it's the "Jumbo") box of Kellogg's Raisin Bran. I've never had a box of cereal before that measured 4 x 9.5 x 13 inches! There was solid overcast again. Did some computer work, then worked on blog entries.

Had lunch around 12:30 and continued doing some computer work. We left in the Jeep at 3:00 and headed towards Valdez.

We went to Horsetail Falls because J wanted to take some variations of compositions she tried last night when the breeze was complicating things by blowing around the fireweed she wanted in the foreground. The breeze was worse today and there was light rain, so we sat and waited. When the rain stopped and the breeze kept going, we went ...

To nearby Bridal Veil Falls. We both started photographing the grand scene of the four drops of the waterfall, then I started to focus on the details. In the image to the left, I only used a polarizer to reduce glare on the wet rocks. A neutral density filter wasn't needed to get a long enough shutter speed have the water look nice. We left at 4:35.

On the drive back, we went by a bald eagle in the top of a tree near where one had been last night.

We got back to the RV around 4:55. I downloaded images and started to edit them while J started to clean the sensors on her cameras. She was having a heck of a time, so I volunteered to make dinner.

I started to make dinner of Safeway Select Shrimp Scampi Linguini and Texas Toast around 7:15. I'm the skillet meal specialist.

While dinner was cooking, I moved the RV. After we returned from photographing Bridal Veil Falls this afternoon, I was looking at a Valdez-area map and saw that the area where we were parked is labeled "Landing Strip." When we pulled in last night, the straight gravel "road" through the brush looked suspiciously like a dirt strip, but it was very narrow, only slightly wider than a dirt track for a car or truck. Anyways, after learning that we were parked on a landing strip, every time a truck went by on the main road, both J and I wondered if it was an airplane approaching. In order to reduce our stress, I moved the RV off of the landing strip onto the nearby parking area and J did likewise for the Jeep.

While eating dinner, I noticed that the headliner was damp near the skylight — looks like we still have a leak. :(

After dinner, we turned on the generator because our house batteries were getting low after not having any real sunshine for the last three days. Based on our usual electricity consumption, we can gain two hours of battery life for each hour we run the generator, plus we get to operate "for free" while the generator's on too. We don't like to run the generator though because it's noisy and not as green as using our solar electric panels.

I edited images from this afternoon and selected and processed one for the blog. Worked on and finished the blog entry for today. I'm finally starting to get into the swing of things with this blog instead of being behind.
