August 6, 2009, a Thursday
Wasilla (D&RA), Alaska, USA
— Photographed birds at home and had Nanaimo Bars for the first time
We took it easy this morning and I had my normal breakfast. Did some computer work. Went in to visit with RA and Tootie around 11:00.

Back to the RV around 11:50. Did some computer work and had lunch.

I went out into the yard around 1:45 to photograph the birds at D's feeders. I photographed black-capped chickadee, red-breasted nuthatch, pine siskin, downy woodpecker, and hairy woodpecker. The image to the left is a hairy woodpecker on a magic log, and you can see the hole filled with suet. (You may read more about magic logs on July 28, 2009.) While I was photographing, I also filled the fresh water tank of the RV.

I went back inside at 4:20 and edited images from yesterday.

I grilled some t-bone steaks on D's grill, and they got way overdone. :( J had made some baked potatoes and a Greek Salad, and D & RA joined us in the RV for dinner around 5:55. J made Nanaimo Bars for dessert. They're a three-layer chocolate no-bake square, and it was the first time we've had them. They were really rich! We sat around and visited for a while, and D shared some advice about using a toilet with a septic system in Alaska: "If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down."

D & RA went back inside around 8:30. I did the dishes because grilling doesn't really count as cooking. :) Did some computer work.
