October 11, 2009, a Sunday
Fort Collins (E&SilJ) to Parker (K), Colorado, USA
— Breakfast with E&SilJ and dinner with SJ&DilK et al
We wet in to E&SilJ's (that's J's daughter E and son-in-law J) around 9:00 for breakfast of kale quiche and zucchini bread made with patty pan squash instead of zucchini. We had a nice time visiting, and talked about music, podcasts, and web development. We left around 1:00 and went ...

To a Schrader's gas station in Fort Collins to dump the gray and black tanks. The dump was inconvenient: the drain was located a bit far from the curb, posts were installed in the parking lot to keep people away from the curb and make it hard to open access doors, and the parking lot sloped away from the drain. We don't get a "satisfying dump" from the gray tank unless the front of the RV is at least level with the rear and the RV leans a bit to the driver's side, so I used Lynx Levelers to raise the front and passenger side of the RV. J filled up the Jeep with gas while I was dumping so we wouldn't have to pay the $2 dump fee. We hooked up the Jeep to tow, then I had lunch before we departed around 2:20.

We got on I-25 and headed south.

We stopped at my storage unit in the Denver area around 3:55 to drop off some things we wouldn't need for a while and to pick up my Epson Stylus Photo R2880 printer, photo paper, and backup hard drives. I have one set of backup hard drives with us, and a second set in my storage unit. We left around 4:10.

We stopped at a parking lot in Parker to unhook the Jeep. J left in the Jeep to go pick up items from the library that she had had on hold, and I left in the RV to go buy a gallon of skim milk from a Safeway grocery store.

I arrived at SJ&DilK's (J's "Son J" and "Daughter-in-law-K") place in Parker around 4:50, a minute or so after J had arrived. GS (granddaughter S, age 2.5) was really happy to see me, and ran across the living room to give me a hug. The last time we visited, GS took a few days to warm up to me again, so I was quite happy that she remembered me this time. :) GJ (grandson J, age 4) was also really happy to see me. GA (grandson A, age 7) was happy to see J's iPhone. I started to do some laundry. After visiting for a while, we took the packages that we had sent to SJ&DilK's out to the RV. I had a Sam Adams Octoberfest beer that was tasty.

We had a delicious dinner of DilK's home-made minestrone soup with garlic breadsticks. J had a slice of cheesecake for dessert and I had a slice of very tasty pecan pie. We left shortly after dessert.

We went to K's in Parker for the night. We were level and hooked up to electricity by 9:20. K's place is in a quiet neighborhood in Parker, a much better location than we had been using when we stayed in Parker in the past, and we were looking forward to the better arrangement. I opened up most of the packages that I had had sent to SJ&DilK's. The Marmot PrecCip jacket fit great, but it sounded noisier than the North Face jacket t was replacing. Maybe it'll make less noise after I wear it a few times.
